A pop culture aficionado and performing arts enthusiast, I write about topics as hard-hitting as hip hop and fun-loving as top travel products. While most of my published works have centered on dance, I have begun expanding my coverage to include mainstream entertainment, such as movies, music, books, fashion, dining and travel.
Currently, I'm a featured blogger for DanceUniverse.com, Dancer Magazine's website, delivering the latest-breaking dance news and commentary. I recently finished writing my sixth book for Capstone Press: a children's non-fiction on Irish step dance that caps off a series, which includes modern, swing, dance teams, breakdancing and jazz. I'm also a contributing editor for Dance Spirit magazine, and writer for Dance Magazine, Dance Retailer News and Cheer Biz News. In addition, I've written cover and feature stories for Ink, a weekly entertainment publication for Monterey County, California, as well as features for The Californian, a Salinas, CA–based newspaper, and The Monterey County Herald.
A bit about me: I'm a former dancer who was the captain of a national championship–winning dance team at NYU, a performer at the Bollywood and Grammy Awards, and a member of a hip-hop concert dance company, Decadancetheatre. I'm honored to have danced at such prestigious venues as the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., Madison Square Garden in New York, and Jacob's Pillow in Beckett, MA. I continue to teach, consult and choreograph for various all-star, high school and collegiate dance teams.
Career highlights include interviewing Patrick Swayze, Debbie Allen and Nigel Lythgoe; traveling to China embedded with a young U.S. dance troupe on tour; and profiling LOVE, Cirque de Soleil's collaboration with my favorite band, The Beatles.
I'm presently living in Marina, CA, tutoring learning disabled students for College Living Experience, a private education company under the umbrella of Educational Services of America.
